Hello, fellow m/m romance buffs!Okay - right off the bat, most of you might be disappointed because there's not a lot of sex going on in this book. It's not a "traditional" romance; hell, I don't know if it's a romance at all! It's only about one (1) clan & no other vampire convents. No other ones are mentioned - and if they are, it's glossed over. The whole story is told from "Nick's" POV, which I was disappointed about. I mean, the book is great - but I wish I could here "Damian's" (Nick's mate) thoughts also. Basically, party guy (Nick) meets vampire & gets bitten in the heat of passion, but doesn't realize all the implications until later. So Nick is freaked right, but no! Nick seems to take all this is stride! It's like "Okay, this is just another chapter in my life..." Yeah, right! I'm thinking "this isn't right," BUT then I get to read about Nick's cat. Nick has a cat named "Hell Kitty!" OMG - the way Nick describes him, the way the cat acts, & everyone's interaction with this cat is sooooooo funny! And some of the things Nick says...hilarious! I just had a good ole time with this book. The sex in the book wasn't very graphic, so that was disappointing also, but I could tell as soon as I started reading this, that there wasn't going to be much.
I have to say that even though I really enjoyed this story, I still wish it was a bit more developed; I wanted to know more about Nick and Damian and Damian's family. I wanted to find out if he and Lily would have a child together (maybe in the next book - if there is one). I wanted to read about other vampire convents and have more "match-making" going on. SUMMARY: I wanted to know lots of things and was left hangin'!!! I don't know if this author did this on purpose or if this is her "regular" writing style. I'll have to read another one of her books and let you guys know!
Until then,
Adios!

Vampire Wanted Nick Tales Book 1 edition by Amber Kell Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Vampire Wanted (Nick's Tales)
Genre{M/M} Vampire Romance
Nick rarely saw the same hookup twice, so he was surprised when shortly after he arrived home from his night with Damian, his cell phone rang. It was Damian, inviting Nick to dinner. Tempted to say no, Nick soon realized that he could not deny Damian anything.
Vampire Wanted is listed as the first book in the Nick's Tales series by the publisher, however the author list Vampire Wanted as a single book. Be that as it may, this is an outstanding well-paced story filled with humor, sizzling intimacy and a touch of drama. The characters are amazing. Nick is a compassionate man with a feisty attitude. He's intelligent and does not bend to Damian's dictates unless he wants to. When Nick discovers Damian is a vampire, Nick accepted the news with an easy grace. It was love at first sight for Damian; he could not bear to leave Nick's side or see anyone else touch Nick, not even Nick's friends. The plot also reveals a few mildly dramatic surprises.
Amber Kell's Vampire Wanted is an excellent, as well as, an extremely enjoyable saga. I hope there will be more of these wonderful characters.
Nick has a one night stand with Damian, only to find that his new friend is rather intent on a relationship and, even more, aggressively possessive. To make things even more intense and crazy, it turns out that Damian is a vampire. How can Nick get out of this? What is more, does he even want to?
This novella is part of the traditional vampire mythos, with one extra variation (pookas) to keep things interesting. There are no dull spots in the plot, and there is one or two surprise twists. The book certainly kept me interested until the end.
Nick has emotional depth, but is also feisty he is no wimpy push over. He also has a sense of humour to endear him to us. Nick is the kind of guy you would like to have as a friend. Damien is a charming, but dominant alpha. He none the less cares for Nick. If alphas are your type you'll like him. By emphasising Damian's dominance I don't mean to imply that this book is BDSM. Yes, the vampires would kill at the drop of a hat, but the book is not at all hard core.
There are mild sex scenes, but once again I would not really call this erotica. None the less if you are a mild, conservative type this is probably not the book for you.
Really, at its heart, Vampire Wanted is a romance, with a bit of intrigue thrown in. Will Nick stick with Damien? Will he not? How will Nick's friends cope with the fact that vampires are real? I like both vampires and romance, so I liked this book. I am happy to award it 4 stars.
The book was good with plenty of sarcastic humor and cheesy romantic babble but it was anticlimactic as well as relatively short.
This story is short and totally unrealistic, but it's a great fun read. Let go of rational thought and enjoy!
One of the more entertaining reads I have run across and one that combined gay romance and humor in a way that brought laughter to me. For anyone who finds themselves at home with the genre, I think that this book is worth the read on the laughter it generates alone. Amber Kell has always been an author whose work entertains me, but this had me looking for the next tale.
I love the stories Amber tells. Her sense of humor and how relationship go makes ready her stories a real joy.
I really enjoyed this story.
The lead character is a light-hearted roll with it kind of guy. His internal monologues were hilarious and I was almost annoyed when some other character would interrupt them to move the story forward. Just thinking about that character brings a smile to my face, he was just THAT loveable.
The rest of the story flowed well, the world was well crafted, and (a real shocker I know but) it was actually edited.
